Are you a person of Irish descent, or simply a person interested in Irish Newfoundland and Labrador culture, music,and history?

BIS Objectives:

The current objectives of the BIS fall under four main headings:

  • Improved Business Operations: The BIS is moving to ensuring that all decision-making is based on solid data thereby ensuring long-term sustainability.
  • Irish – Newfoundland & Labrador Cultural Centre: The BIS is building on its strong Culture and Heritage foundation to build what will become a province-wide virtual network of all things Irish-NL connecting the province and the globe with cultural information.
  • BIS Charitable Foundation: The BIS was originally founded to help the poorest folks, mainly Irish Immigrants, subsisting on the seasonal cod fishery. Today our main charitable support goes to the School Lunch Program.
  • Social Organization: The BIS Irish Hall is home to many social events including dinner theatre, dinners and dances, socials, darts, bingo.
